Jurassic World Rebirth Movie Review: Is The Franchise Finished??

I recently went to watch the newly released movie Jurassic World Rebirth. However, my 3D experience wasn’t all that great. Yes, if you’re watching it on a big screen like IMAX, then only choose the 3D option; otherwise, 2D is better. So, let’s talk a bit about the movie. See, this is the seventh film in the Jurassic Cinematic Universe, and Jurassic World Dominion, the previous part, was its standalone sequel. If you look at all the films together, you’ll notice the format is almost the same. There are dinosaurs, which are a threat, and the whole point is to survive that threat. And why survive? Because these creatures literally go into your mouth! I’m serious! And what do people say? “Hey, dinosaurs are dangerous for us.” So, brother, stop poking them with your finger, or else they’ll start biting it. But this time, the plot has a slight change. Now, people have become bored with dinosaurs. The dinosaurs now live on an isolated island, but the scientists are already excited.

Some scientists go to that island on a mission to bring back blood samples of three dinosaurs. From their DNA, they could save millions of lives. The movie shows the confrontation between water dinosaurs, Mosasaurus, land-dwelling Titanosaurus, and another dinosaur. Whether they manage to extract DNA from these flying dinosaurs and return safely or not, you will see all of that in the film. To be very honest, every film has a kid stuck among the dinosaurs, and this one felt a bit forced to me. Besides the scientists, there’s a family shown who are travelling by boat across the sea, and just like that, they get caught in the war between the scientists and dinosaurs. But why? It was clearly just to give the audience some emotional support like, “No, nothing should happen to this family.” Poor kid, poor father! Alright, I admit, it actually worked. But how long will the makers keep repeating the same formula again and again?

Anyway, that’s for them to decide. Among all this, I’ll say if you’re watching a dinosaur movie for the first or second time, you will enjoy it. The first half, or rather the first 20-25 minutes, feels a bit stretched. The rest is, as usual, like every Jurassic movie: some people die, some survive the bloody game of survival. Some betray their own, while others risk their lives for strangers. And these Jurassic films never really end, you know! Every movie ends with an open ending so that another new movie can be made. So, get ready for that. There’s no credit scene, so you can leave as soon as the movie finishes. By the way, the VFX and CGI have always been top-notch since the first Jurassic part. The old nostalgic music also plays, which is quite soothing. So overall, from my side, I’ll give it three out of five stars. It’s a good movie but not one I’d call great.
