Officer on Duty Movie Review: The Malayalam Thriller That Will Keep You Hooked!

Do you like watching investigation thrillers in which you are unable to understand what is going on in the movie till the very last scene. If the answer is yes, then say bye bye to theatres, say hi to OTT because you can easily watch Officer On Duty on Netflix that too with nice Hindi dubbing. The film’s subject is so real, dark and interesting that you would want to directly sit in a police jeep and solve a case by yourself. Officer On Duty was previously released in theatres where it earned a lot of money and has come to OTT to earn respect. But do not start watching it immediately for fun, because the movie starts with a very disturbing scene. Live death is shown on camera. At that time, I was just thinking how this scene must have been shot. When you watch the first 5 minutes, you will understand that this movie is very dark and serious. Keep children away from you. And if you too cannot watch sensitive cinema, then you can skip it because some scenes of the movie can make you mentally uncomfortable. A bus moving on the road stops directly at the nearby police station.

A crime of theft has taken place inside, in which the gold chain has gone missing. Three women are standing in front, one whose gold chain was stolen, second, the one who witnessed the theft, and third, the one who is being called a thief. The police has to decide which one is who. Then a new senior officer enters the station who does something to solve the case which nobody can imagine even in real life, let alone a film. He kicks the woman standing in front of him on her stomach, whereas the woman has clearly told him that she is pregnant and is going to become a mother. If you are shocked by hearing this, then you are going to enjoy this film a lot because not just one, but a total of four chains have been stolen in this film and all those cases will be solved by this kicking officer. When the film starts with a kick, I cannot tell you what all is going to happen in the film.

You will have to keep your mouth shut. By keeping your mouth shut, I remembered that in this police station, a police officer has become speechless because a video has come on his phone which has scared him the most. When crime happens with people, they go to the police, but when the police itself stands on the other side, then who will come to help them. In the beginning, I had told you that the film starts with a disturbing scene. It is the dead body of a policeman which is currently hanging from the ceiling. Who is this big devil who is hunting the policemen and what will happen when he will collide with another devil who can bring out the truth even by kicking a woman in the stomach.

The negative characters of this film have been written in such a way that if you watch it alone at home, you will start feeling scared to stay at home. If you have noticed, this thing is the best in Malayalam cinema. These people keep full focus on the story of the villain rather than boasting about the hero. You should watch movies like Officer on Duty to understand how you connect with the film of a unpopular actor whom you do not even know, just because of a strong story. On top of that, the climax of the film is totally shocking. Everything that I told you is connected to each other in a very intelligent way. You will enjoy it when you trust a character more than necessary.

Then you will see such scenes in the film when you will come to know that no one can be a bigger devil than this. It is quite unpredictable cinema and the investigation style is fast, smart and the presentation of hero versus villain is fresh, the way of showing it is awesome. It is just a two-hour movie, so much will be shown, you will feel you have seen the entire web series. There are a lot of details, but the way of showing it is super fast, if you blink, you will miss the story, the movie gets 3.5 stars out of 5. Firstly, a smart story for intelligent audience, secondly, you have to identify who the negative characters are, thirdly, a confusing ending which you cannot fit into right and wrong, and a half star for the acting which is completely natural. In negatives, so many investigation movies have been made that this movie can hardly be kept apart from the rest, nothing special was shown and the process of hero versus villain was very short, it ended very quickly, the movie did not let me feel it.
