Tuner: A Super Tense Thriller Where Music Meets Crime 🎹🔒 Directed by Daniel Roher (the guy who made Navalny ), Tuner takes a very quiet, old-school job and turns it into a high-voltage mind game. It is a lot like those classic suspense movies where a person’s special talent becomes their biggest problem. The movie beautifully turns the simple science of sound and pitch into pure thrill, giving us a super smart robbery story. The Vibe: Amazing Sound Design Meets Big Crime 🎚️🏢 The film does a great job of showing a deep character story while keeping you on the edge of your seat. The Story: We follow a lonely, super-focused piano tuner who has a literal superpower, he has 'perfect pitch' and can understand sounds like nobody else. His quiet daily routine goes out the window when a fancy gang of criminals forces him to join them. The Robbery: The mission is perfectly made for him. He has to use his crazy good hearing to crack an impossible, high-security loc...
We all notice how much a film did in the theatres but on OTT, films have a different style, in OTT respect matters more than money. You must have heard the name Lucky Baskhar. When the film was running in theatres, no one in the North knew about it. But as soon as its Hindi version came on OTT, Oh My God! Netflix once again has a chance for the public to champion the content and give the film its due credit on OTT. In reality, this is the best suspense film of 2024, Sookshmadarshini.
This is a new and fresh release on Hotstar, there is no need to worry at all, the film is also available in Hindi dubbing, Malayalam cinema, just these words are enough to make you understand that the quality of the film is going to be top class, without any doubt. The most underrated film industry of cinema where no two movies are made the same, every week a new film like Drishyam and Marco is released and then these people forget about it, THE INDUSTRY IS MALAYALAM INDUSTRY!
Sookshmadarshini has emerged from there, even the sharpest minded person cannot understand the climax of the film. The story is of a job interview where a girl wants to do something new away from her boring life but she does not succeed in that company but life gives a second chance to this madam. She shifts to another house and get new neighbours , all she wanted was entertainment, if not a job then a neighbour would do. Now the thing is such that this new neighbour's family has an old grandmother and a son who takes care of her, but the grandmother is suffering from Alzheimer's, in which a person slowly loses his ability to think and understand and is unable to make new memories and forgets the old ones.
But the real problem is that this time grandmother goes missing from the house, no one knows whereabouts and the police finds the dead body of a woman at night. Has the same thing happened that you and I are thinking right now? This thought is scaring the heroine of our film as well, but she has seen something even more horrifying than that. Grandma who is missing from home at this time and probably her dead body is with the police, Madam has seen her standing near the window inside the house with her own eyes, meaning either Grandma's ghost has returned home. Maybe the soul is suffering from Alzheimer's disease or maybe the grandmother is alive. Then whose corpse is it and why has the son kept his grandmother hidden?
The lead actress finds a big red mark on the wall of grandma's house. Is it blood? If yes, then whose is it? Where did it come from? The house which was lying vacant a month ago, is it slowly turning into a haunted mansion. What is going on with this? The climax of this movie will make everything fail, the ending of the movie was kept hidden in such a tremendous way that you will not be able to see it even if you are in front of it. This is the magic of Malayalam cinema.
They present even a normal story in such an intelligent way that every time you feel you have seen something new and the best thing is that anyone can enjoy this film. Everybody likes to use their brain but in Bollywood, there haven't been many options since Andhadhun. Last time, Maharaja's ending blew everyone's mind. If you liked Maharaja, then this new Malayalam movie will blow your mind.
The villain of the film is Basil Joseph, who is also a director himself and has directed Minal Murali, but the level of acting is such that even big actors fail. Apart from this, the relationship that has been created between the grandmother and the lead character in the film, you will not even understand when you will get entangled in it like a spider. You will find such strong and smart writing that you cannot help but connect with it. Emotions were used to hide the suspense and you were made to feel like a fool. So Sookshmadarshini will get four stars out of five. First, the climax of the film literally created a hole in the middle of my head, it is a totally unpredictable cinema. Secondly the setting that has been created feels so real, nothing is over the top, as if we are watching a real life CCTV.
Thirdly the angle of heroine versus villain that has been added, which is quite different. Fourth, emotions are many and that the film does not waste any time in love stories or anything like that. The only complaint in the negatives is that unlike Drishyam, there was no feeling that the heroine will be caught which is a losing factor. You will definitely have to watch this movie, only then will you understand what is lacking in Bollywood, watch it yourself and understand how important it is to make such movies.
