Pushpa 2: The Rule Movie Review- Bahubali KHATAM!!

Pushpa 2: The Rule-

I had expected so many things from the movie but I did not expect that I will hear so much Japanese. Pushpa 2- The Rule has been released in theatres, it is the sequel of Pushpa 1: The Rise which was released 3 years ago and the hype that was being built around this movie was out of this world. Well did it live up to the hype or not? Lets see, first of all this to watch this movie, it is absolutely necessary for you to watch Pushpa 1- The Rise.

If I think about the overall story, then there is a lot of substance, a little more than what you expect from a typical action masala entertainer. I consider it way better than part one as the first part was just Pushpa's story whereas in this film, Pushpa's story evolves from a smuggler to International Sandalwood supplier. In the start of the film, Pushpa goes to Japan as well. So, the main character of the movie, Pushparaj illegally smuggles sandalwood, and has become the head of Syndicate.

He is earning a lot of money. Small problems are coming up, like if the police catches his people, then he frees them. He helps his people and loves his wife so much that one day, the CM of the state refuses to take a photo with him, so he makes someone else the CM just so that his wife could take a photo with him. It also feels like in Animal, women were not treated well, so in Pushpa, Allu Arjun's character does the exact opposite, he listens to each and every order of his wife. In Animal, Rashmika Mandana was treated badly and in Pushpa, She is the Queen.

Honestly, I enjoyed watching it, more than I had expected, but one thing that I am disappointed about is that the makers of Kalki also did the same thing. If you are making a pan India movie, the director, producer, actor, everyone knows that the Hindi version is very important, if it works then a lot of money will come, so please take music seriously. Like all the songs in Pushpa 1 felt like they were made in Himdi with new lyrics whereas in Pushpa 2, it just feels as if the makers translated the telugu songs in hindi from Google Translate.

The songs have one of the worst lyrics like Kissik which feels as if they made the whole song in Bihari. The other songs like Pushpa Pushpa and Peelings is also not nice and is a bit vulgar as well. One thing that I experienced repeatedly in this movie and I was laughing, giggling, there was a smile on my face is because how absurd these circumstances are, the dialogues that the characters are saying, even the action, it is borderline ridiculous as well but it is convincing but it will be fun because if you are going to watch a franchised movie and you are expecting a grounded serious movie, then don't watch Pushpa 2.

The makers showed a character larger than life that he has become so big that people, the village, the whole system has bowed down in front of him. If the police catches hid men, then what will he do? The audience will definitely clap after seeing it because there is a whole purpose behind designing them but there were some hyped scenes like he goes to negotiate with a businessman from outside, I did not find it that impactful.

 

But all the scenes between Pushpa and Srivalli, both of them are married, they are husband and wife, I enjoyed them a lot and while watching them I am noticing one thing that the director has not made many cuts, if any scene is set then it goes on and on. Both the actors are giving their best performance and it is so refreshing to watch writing, staging, blocking, acting, everything put together to deliver such an experience. Well done for that and you know what will seem like a surprising thing is that by watching this movie you can also learn something about how to treat a wife and women in general.

But then some negative points are when the Kissik song starts and in the same song what is Pushpa Bhau doing in front of his wife? He is sticking to the Sreeleela. I was like bro this is completely opposite of what you are preaching and now because I have poked the elephant in the room, so let's address the music department. I hate the songs because they are so bad in terms of lyrics, in terms of what is heard by the ears and what is visible to the eyes. Can you give a logical explanation that the character on whom the whole movie is based is from a village?

But if you are going to watch this movie then the biggest reason behind it will be the character of Pushpa which is played by ICON STAR, Allu Arjun and he is so freaking good. Emotional scenes, hype moments, action, romance, Allu Arjun has given himself completely for this character and it can be seen. Even the dance, whatever I said is also a little bit watchable because the actor has done it with so much conviction, even made the worst part at least watchable. Such a good work, the problem was only one thing that the last 15-20 minutes, the makers showed a new character.

Fahadh Faasil has played the role of Bhanvar Singh Shekhawat and he promised that in this part two that is coming, the fight between the Pushpa and Shekhawat Sir will be legendary and you know it is good, very good but whatever is shown does not finish in the 1.5 hours. Fahadh Faasil's police character will come for a short time, create problems, then disappear, then come for a short time, then disappear and after the movie is over, when I was thinking about it, I realized that it also followed the pattern of part one to a great extent.

Some issues are in front of the character, he has to make himself great, so the whole movie is spent in doing that. I liked the first half of the movie very much and just before the interval, in such movies, which usually have blocks, they will show you a very big action set piece so that you get hyped. But the makers showed something else in a very smart way and it hits. There is no big bombardment but the core values of the main character are challenged and the tension that builds up due to that is honestly something I did not expect that is why I was looking forward a lot to the second half and it is still good but felt a bit long.

In my theatre, the interval came around 1 hour 10 minutes, and after the interval, i saw that the movie was going on and on and on. The editing is not nice as usually 55-60% movie gets finished by the tine of the interval but Pushpa 2 was only 30% completed. The scenes are very wide and go on for a long long time. I knew that the movie was 3 hours and 20 minutes but it feels as if the movie has too much material like i waited 3 to 4 times that now the movie will get over, but it wasn't getting over.

If you were following the issue of music then yes there are names of additional background score in it but that thing did not affect this movie. In fact there is a scene in the second half which was too powerful. Instead of a beginning, middle and a satisfying end, the picture will give you two endings but that will not be its end point either. You will understand what I am trying to say if you watch it but the point is that if you liked part one then you will 200% like part two and maybe even more because in my opinion it is better.

The makers could have cut the songs and made it a little shorter but at the end of the day I will recommend it. Just know this much and prepare your mind that what kind of movie you are going to watch. In Pushpa 2, there is a hero who almost kills people by defying gravity like God. So turn off your mind for logic there because emotionally the movie delivers. And if you did not like the first part at all, then staying away would be a better option. The movie has a left a suspense and has announced Pushpa 3- The Rampage in a post credit scene. I expected them to announce it as if you see the hype and money that the movie has earned in just 5 days is out of this world. By Far, PUSHPA 2 IS THE BEST SEQUEL OF A FILM. The story moves ahead and not just 2 or 3 steps, the story leaps from a smuggler to Sandalwood King.
