Hanu-Man V/S Adipurush: What went correct and wrong?

On one side there is Hanuman movie whose budget was 20 to 50 crores and till now it has done a worldwide business of 250 crores and the audience liked this movie a lot and appreciated it a lot and on the other side there is Adipurush whose budget was 500-700 crores but it proves to be a disaster at the box office and people abused that movie a lot. Look, if we talk about the vision of both the directors, there was a huge difference in them. Talking about Prashant Varma Sir, he wants to create a cinematic superhero universe which will be inspired by our Indian history or Indian mythology stories or in some other way. Especially if we talk about Hanuman movie, he wanted to make a proper superhero movie with which the Indian audience could connect. He knew that a small budget would not be enough for the vision he had, but still he did a very good job in pulling off.

A stage has been set for a bigger cinematic universe where we will get to see different superheroes and the announcement of the second superhero Adhira of the same universe has already been made. Prashant Varma Sir's vision is so clear in the movie. Looking at the last 10 minutes, we get to know where we actually get goosebumps, but Hanuman movie is not a master piece movie, it is also an above average movie, but with less resources, we got to see this level of content.

Due to the movie’s content, it has won the hearts of the audience and has generated a lot of hype for the upcoming Jai Hanuman movie and the other movies of this universe. Now on the other hand, if we talk about Om Raut, then according to him he has not made Ramayana but has made a movie inspired by Ramayana with which the Indian youth can relate.

First of all, Om Raut Sir’s vision is not clear, he doesn't even know what he is making, sometimes in an interview he says tearfully that Hanumanji must come to see our Ramayana and sometimes he says that they have not made Ramayana exactly. Our brother, Om Raut sir's vision was very clear that we will print all the big Hollywood movies and then take a hero who doesn't look like Shri Ram even remotely like him, he will slap two-three hands on the green screen and then call Rajesh from the street and get it edited by a kine master and then he will cry saying and requesting Hanumanji to come and watch their so called Ramayana.

Prashant Varma sir had to make a proper superhero movie but he also knew that he was short of resources. To make a superhero movie, a good budget was required which he did not have and he was aware of his positive points. And regarding negative points, instead of focusing on their negative points or things that they cannot do, they focused on their positive points, things that they can do or things that have in their hands. There wasn't that much money to make a big scale superhero movie, otherwise they kept the story grounded and gave the story more importance than the action or VFX in the movie.

They gave such elements in the movie with which the Indian audience could relate, for example. The funeral scene was so good cinematography wise and the climax of the movie or the bomb blast by these people in the movie, because of that one 10 minute sequence, people have ignored all the negative points of the movie. And this is a brilliant writing.

On the other hand, if we talk about Adipurush, that movie had everything, that movie had a Baap level budget as well as all the resources. The mistake people made was that they were not self-aware of how difficult it is to make a fully packed VFX movie and who knows, they might not even be aware of what they were going to make. They might have thought that in the movie if Prabhas is cast, then Rs 300-400 crores will be earned in the beginning of the movie, a senseless entry scene of Prabhas will be shown which will have nothing to do with the story and after that the audience will go crazy and two or three Oscars will be taken home.

Om Raut thought that if they come and sell this movie by telling the story of Ramayana, then they will get a profit of Rs. 400-500 crores, Rs. 1000 crores in their pocket. There is nothing to say about Adipurush. Whereas, the makers of Hanu-Man movie did one of the brilliant marketing and that too in a very low budget. Adipurush's Treasure was released in June 2022, which was absolutely ridiculous and according to it, it also got a lot of abuses.

Everyone had only one thing to say that you guys have made this Tatti for Rs 700 crores. At that time, there was a lot of negative marketing of Adipurush and at the same time, the makers of Hanu-Man played there, they released their film in the next month of October. The teaser of Hanuman movie was released and it spread a rumor in the market that this movie has been made in only Rs. 20 crores. What happened after that, Hanuman movie got a huge positive marketing because in a small budget, Prashant Varma made a film like Adipurush.

Everyone had done a terrible job. Everyone was comparing Adipurush and Hanu-Man. Just like you are compared with Sharma ji's son, you worthless idiot, look at how good he is and similar was the condition of Adipurush. Hanu-Man already had the hype so when the time of release came they did not do anything extra ordinary, they put the trailer just two weeks before the release, which got a good response, gave local interviews, went to shows and promoted his movie like this and when the movie was released, people liked it very much.

This movie became such a big hit only because of word of mouth. Talking about Adipurush, they used their whole heart to market this movie and created a lot of noise all over the world, but what to do today's audience did not understand. Everything was not planned by the makers of Hanuman movie, there were some things which went in their favor or we can say lucky for those things.

Like the movie's lead actor Teja Sajja, this movie is the biggest movie of his career due to which he put everything in this movie, he gave his 100% efforts due to which we could connect with the lead role of the movie and even the rest of the cast has also given very powerful performance and one more thing which went in their favor or they were lucky for it is the absurdity of Adipurush because everyone compared Hanuman movie with Adipurush.

Because of this negative publicity, Hanuman got it's positive publicity. So, this was my point of view that what did Hanuman movie do right due to which it became such a big hit?
