Did fighter movie really flop? Honestly, I was not going to make a blog on it. I have been busy for some time now but then I am seeing posts and stories saying that fighter has crash landed and is a flop. Well, hello, my name is Artist and we will meet again and again. To begin with, first of all see the day wise collection of eight days of Fighter:
Day 1- 22.5 crores
Day 2- 39.5 crores
Day 3- 27.5 crores
Day 4- 29 crores
Day 5- 8 crores
Day 6- 7.5 crores
Day 7- 6.5 crores
Your focus should be on its day number five collection, that number of Rs. 8 crores is quite shocking because no one had even thought in their dreams that Fighter would fall so much. Its opening day was Thursday, it was a regular day, no holiday, Rs 22 crores, which can be considered decent because the picture has been made with so many stars, talks were held on national pride, action, masala and the environment around which it was released. It was going bigger than what was expected.
Day 2 was republic day holiday, almost earned 40 crores, showed a jump of about 76%. Day 3, Saturday which was also a bank holiday , Fighter took a drop of 30%, it should have been more but it is more than day one, so we can consider it as a Win. The next day, Sunday, it was expected that it will take a big jump again but it did not come, only 5.45%. It can be understood that it was such a long weekend and Monday is a full working day, so there will be a slight drop in the collections, but a direct decline from 29 crores to 8 crores. Decline of 21 crores!! the very next day. If its single days were in the range of 70 to 80 crores, then it was expected, but at this point, it is rough because this drop from 29 to 8 is a drop of 72.4%
Dunki and Tiger 3, which could not show its full potential, also earned double digits on seven and eight days respectively at the box office. There was a wave of boycott on the release time of Brahmastra movie and a lot of memes were being made about how its VFX looked like a laser show. the first Monday drop of this movie which was at 72.4% is so big, to explain its reference, examples of other movies have to be given. So Brahmastra's dropped 64%, Ayushmann Khurrana's Dream Girl 2 dropped almost 66%, which had beaten Fighter, Bhai Jaan Ki Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan also fell at almost 62% on Monday but still earned Rs 10 crores. Now don't worry it won't go as low as KKBKKJ Reasons Fighter movie has fallen so much, then why has it fallen?
First of all, it was released on Thursday, so the movie which has a big audience who watched it within the first four days and by the time of first Monday the movie was five days old. The movies I have named a little while ago were all four days old. They were released on Friday. But there are two reasons why those people should be nervous who didn't want to see this movie failing. Number 1. Tu Jhooti Mai Makkar which was released on Wednesday, which means by the time of first Monday, it was six days old, but still Shraddha Kapoor's movie had earned Rs. 6 crores, which is just Rs.2 crores less than Fighter's Rs. 8 crores. But if we see the scope of TJMM's first four days' collection, how big a scale it had achieved in terms of money, then Rs. 15.73 crores were earned on the first day. The highest it went on a single day was 17 crores on Day 5, if we put the peak of Fighter in front of 17 crores, then it was Rs. 39.25 crores, which is more than double, if you have not understood brother, then Fighter also flew very high and fell.
To make you understand there is a new contender to fight in the second round, Bhola which is quite similar to Fighter in terms of box office. It was released on Thursday itself, it also earned majority of its money in the first four days. But on Monday it dropped to Rs. 4.5 crores. If you are thinking that yes, this is half of Fighter, let me tell you a mind blowing thing, Bhola is in the red corner, the total collection of the first four days is 43 crores, from there it went to Rs. 4.5 crores. In the blue corner, the collection of first four days of Fighter was more than Rs.120 crores, from there it came to Rs.8 crores. If this number would have been around 13 crores then we consider the opening trending of both the movies to be equal but do not be disappointed.
The only hope left is this Bloody Monday which we have been talking about for so long. If we look at the trend from Monday to Thursday, Bhola had dropped 28% but Fighter's dropped only 25%. Yesterday, it earned Rs. 6 crores. If Fighter may sustain in small amounts, but if it continues to earn for a long time, then a decent collection will be made, like Bhediya. Because this is the drop of regular working days, Tu Jhooti Main Makkar Ka 25% drop is equal to Fighter’s 25% drop. The very simple meaning is that from here onwards if Fighter goes like Bhola then it will end up with around Rs.219 crores and if it goes like Tu Jhooti Main Makkar then it will end up at Rs. 230 crores. Lifetime India Net Collection Estimate of Fighter is 220 crores plus minus 10 crores.
Which means that by beating Bang Bang, it will become the third highest grossing movie of Hrithik Roshan's career after War and Krrish 3. Pay attention to my words that ONLY IF IT SUSTAINS. The final thing about which we talk about whether Fighter will be a hit or a flop in 2024 is that the budget of the picture was reported to be Rs. 250 crores. That too 3 years ago, in today's time, it could be anything. More or less the Worldwide collection of Fighter as per today is Rs.250 crores which can go up to Rs. 360 crores-370 crores. So if you look at the India net collection for the box office verdict then Fighter is a flop. How? I will give you multiple options so grab the one which suits you best because here we are all just guessing, as I said that I do not have any concrete number of the budget of the picture and if the picture is a hit or flop, it is decided on its budget. If we take the budget as Rs. 250 crores, then its classification for this verdict will be like this:
Less than Rs. 250 crores- FLOP
Rs. 250 crores to Rs. 313 crores- AVERAGE
Rs. 313 crores to Rs. 438 crores- HIT
Rs. 438 crores to Rs. 500 crores- Super HIT
Rs. 500 crores plus- BLOCKBUSTER
On the internet, the classification that is going around and inside all this, a tricky thing is added that what numbers are you catching, if you taking the India Net Collection (INC) then it is a flop because ₹250 crores are not going to go to India. If you are taking the India Gross Collection (IGC) then according to my calculations it should touch 250 crores. Even if Fighter can barely manage it means average and if you are taking the Worldwide Collection (WWC) then it will most like cross 313 crores meaning it will be a hit. What do you think? You tell me what is this, don't forget one thing that we have adjusted its budget, the exact number is not known, it may be 200 crores, 300 crores, the whole equation will change, but one thing we can say with complete confidence that in terms of box office, Fighter completely turned out to be a Very Suprising Disappointment.
