Have you seen the movie Ek Haseena Thi or Badlapur or Andhadhun, which you must have seen as it was one of the best black comedy thriller film, the makers and director of the same film Sriram Raghavan is bringing another thriller film Merry Christmas in which you will get to see an unusual pair, Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi. This film has been shot simultaneously in two languages which are Tamil and Hindi, the side actors in both Tamil and Hindi are also changed, like Vinay Pathak is there in Hindi and Radhika is in place of Sharath Kumar in Tamil. Even, if you see the trailer cuts of Tamil and Hindi versions, then both of them are different, where in the Tamil version, Kamal Haasan's photo is on the weight machine ticket, whereas in the Hindi version, it is Rajesh Khanna's, so keeping the audience in mind, the actors have been changed. It is Actually a Good Move.
Seeing the Tamil trailer, it seems that both of them are husband and wife meeting after 7 years, maybe after getting divorced, they are reuniting again. In the Hindi trailer, they sound like strangers to each other who met just for 3 hours and then the real story of the murder started and that is why this trailer leaves a lot of questions in you, just like Shriram Raghavan style, he forces the audience to make a theory as to what will be the clues as to who would have committed the murder and the monster in the end will not be Vijay Sir himself because see, Vijay Sir's look and face cut is very simple and a simple looking face is given a role which is absolutely different from it.
The story of the film starts getting more fun and in fact this trailer itself has raised so many questions that I was waiting for another Andhadhun style movie and finally I am seeing that glimpse in Merry Christmas. Like Starting Two different scenes are going on at the same time, on the left is probably Katrina, she is mixing some medicine and medicines, perhaps she wants to kill someone by giving him the medicine. She is also mixing medicines in the mixer. Wearing the same sweater, she has probably organized a party in her house and some scandal is going to happen in that party. Here on the right side, Vijay Sethupathi is making dal and chilli chutney. So there must be some connection between these two, for sure a sofa has been shown under which a hammer and crowbar have been stuck, so they must be aware that there is some threat which has to be dealt with and for that they have kept their weapons ready, so see. How many theories will be created for this movie, that too only after watching this trailer and that is why I am excited for this movie which will be released in theaters on 12th January.
