DUNKI V/S SALAAR: Who Will This Epic Box Office War?

Dunki vs Salar is the biggest clash in the history of cinema. Fans are fighting with each other everywhere. The matter has come to emotions and now comparison has started from the business angle too. Who gets the most shows and how much should be the advance booking of which film? But does anyone really know how much money a film has to make to become a superhit? You will be shocked to hear that Dunki Shahrukh Khan 2.0 is going to be SRK's cheapest film after comeback. Pathan was made for more than 200 crores and Jawan was made for 300 crores but the budget of Donkey is only 85 crores in which after adding marketing, the total cost of the film is 120 crores. All the expenses are covered. Yes, Shahrukh's fees is not included in this because he works on profit based model. The more the film earns, the bigger will be his share. How come the budget is so low? You are thinking this because in comparison to Jawan and Pathan, DUNKI is very less. It was shot in very small amount of time and was ready, now people give so much respect to Rajkumar Hirani not without any reason, the guy pays full attention to making the film and not on the surnames of the actors and the amazing thing is that even before the release of Dunki, it has returned with more earnings than its budget. Yes, the entire return of Rs 230 crores, which includes Rs 150 crores OTT deal and the remaining Rs 80 crores satellite, means where the film will be shown on TV after its release, in return, we got the same in return of coming to the theatre. After this, Dunki has to do a business of 180 to 200 crores to make himself a superhit, Yes, that's all. 

Now let's move on to the comeback of Baahubali Prabhas towards Salaar. Here the matter is a bit of HiFi type. Salaar is India's one of the most expensive films because its total budget is around 400 crores and it is also said that in this 400 crores Prabhas's fee is also included. Why are you thinking so much money on one actor because it is written in history. A film which has Prabhas's face in the lead has to think a little to earn the money back. Yes, Salaar has already done a pre-release business of Rs 350 crores, which is a little less than its budget, and there is an OTT deal of about Rs 160 crores, which is not a big deal for any film. This is also a record number for a South Indian film and the rest of the money was financed through satellite plus music. According to this, Salaar will have to do a business of at least Rs 500 crore after its release in theaters. 

I forgot to mention the most important thing in Salaar Dunki Clash, Dunki has got UA certificate from Censor Board, which means everyone with family and children can enjoy the film in the theatre, but in the case of Salaar, there may be some loss here because the film has been passed with adult certificate. The Censor Board had given the choice to Director Prashant Neel for a UA certificate by removing four-five scenes, but Neel Saheb believes that those scenes are very important for the film and on the contrary to the loss, the original certificate will attract more public attention towards the film.

Now see, screen count matters most for both the movies and here the North South factor becomes very important. Dunki can get shows at almost 46 in the North Belt. While Salar will get it at 30, it will also include the share of Aquaman at 14 and Animal at 10, but do not make the mistake of underestimating Salaar because in the South the game is completely opposite, there, Salaar will completely overshadow Dunki and in foreign markets also, the fight is very close, both the films can make records, the hype of both the day one collection is solid, on the other hand, now let's skip the unnecessary talk and come to the direct point, which film is going to collect how much in Dunki vs Salaar on the first day? 

Look Salaar is an event film, Total Pan Indian Cinema and that is why the ticket prices will be kept very high, due to which despite the clash, Salaar can easily make an opening of 70 crores plus in India alone and the total world wide will be around 130-140 crores. In the case of Dunki, the game may be a bit reversed. This is not a mass event film, that is why there may not be a storm on the opening day, but Tsunami is confirmed in the lifetime. Dunki can fetch around Rs 50 crore in India on day one, while the world wide sub Combined, the film will probably complete SRK's century hat-trick of ₹1000 crores. Now in the lifetime, who will come out ahead in the lifetime of Dunki vs Salar, that will depend only on the content.
